Music in Christianity

Ephesians 5:19 "speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,"

Music is something very big in our culture today, we just had the Grammys very recently, and that got me thinking on this; all of the music we listen to usually has no signs of God or Christians or Jesus in it at all. Why? Why is all of the music we listen to nowadays always involve cursing or swearing or talking bad about something? Why can't we have more songs that are going around that are christian? I think it is really bad for all of us that we have rooted ourselves so deeply into pop culture and things of that sort--me included. We all need a change, we need something big to happen, because all we listen to and consider "good" music is the ones about people making fun of other people or calling others harsh names. We have to remember that these are our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ we can't keep trashing them.

Christianity is something very hard to live by for every single one of us, we all have sinned, we all will sin some more; we can't stop that. That means that we should stop worrying about trying to change that, and focus on something we can change, like our playlists, I guarantee all of us have a playlist dedicated for rap or pop songs, but do we all have a playlist devoted to Christian music? That should be one easy thing we change, but also to listen too it because we all also have playlists we have made but we don't listen to. So what I challenge all of you guys to, including me, is that we all make a Christian playlist and try to listen to it at least once every other day as a start, who knows, you might actually find that you really enjoy the music and want to listen to it more often; I hope that happens, but just making one and listening to it is one big thing that we can change.
